Relaxed Coastal Morocco group tour
July 11 – 18, 2026

10 people maximum
(plus the driver, guide – and Cara for at least part of the trip)
If you want to explore Morocco, without the early wake-ups, long drives or hectic schedules – this is the tour for you.
In today’s world, the new currency has become time.
People try to exchange the minimum time for the maximum experience, and in doing so stress themselves
and those around them.
This is a chance to experience time the Moroccan way;
where the experience of time is more dense
and people are more relaxed.
Discovery comes from more than the local guide lecture;
it comes from the experience of simply being in a place.
Coastal Morocco is a magnificent blend of old-world charm
and exotic colours. Sit for a meal in one of the fishing villages
overlooking the ocean and coastal flora leading up to it.
Wander through bustling souks, the Essaouira medina and stone storehouses built by the Berbers centuries ago.
We have made some of the activities on this tour optional extras
because some of you may prefer to abstain
and simply relax in coolness.
Immerse yourself in another culture, in a relaxed and contemplative manner. It’s wonderful.
BOOKINGS CLOSE April 1, 2026
(or when tour is full – whichever is earlier)
Remember July is HOT, but we have an air-conditioned vehicle and sea-breeze accommodation most of the time, and it may be that July is when you are already in Europe anyway. ***** Also, let us know if pre-tour you want to arrive in Marrakech and spend the night there. You could do a tour of Marrakech the next day and join the group tour in Essaouira (about 3 hours drive away) the following day. |
Essaouira
July 11-12
DAY 1 – July 11, 2026: Essaouira (Saturday)
MEALS: Dinner (D)
Arrive in Essaouira the old Portuguese Port town, a morning’s drive from Marrakech city or its airport if that is where you are coming from. (Please note that the tour fee does not cover your activity prior to the start of the tour in Essaouira. Airport pick up from Essaouira Airport is included.). Welcome dinner at Riad Baladin (or equivalent) or at a local restaurant such as Restaurant Triskala, located in the oldest part of the medina and decorated with many items obtained from the local flea markets.
DAY 2 – July 12, 2026: Essaouira (Sunday)
Meals: Breakfast (B) Lunch (L) & D
A morning tour of Essaouira, including perhaps a short coffee break as well as seeing the sights, artisanal and artwork of the locals, followed by lunch buying fish and having it grilled for you under the watchful eye of your guide.
Early afternoon free. You might want to check out the beach, or return to further explore a place you saw in the morning – or just have some quiet time at your accommodation. Also, this afternoon might be a good time to lock in (with the help of your guide) your proposed activities in Sidi Kaouki on Day 4 of this tour.
Late afternoon, you will experience a little of the ongoing French influence in Morocco and go to a fromagerie for some cheese and wine tasting, followed by dinner there. The tour fee will cover the wine tonight, but not otherwise on tour.
Sidi Kaouki
July 13-14
DAY 3 – July 13, 2026: Essaouira to Sidi Kaouki (Monday)
Meals: B L & D
Drive around 25 kilometres from Essaouira to Sidi Kaouki and stay at Villa Laba (or equivalent).
Lunch at Sidi Kaouki, then in the late afternoon, when it has cooled down somewhat, hike to Sidi Mbark waterfalls (which are only sometimes present). Here, the convergence of a large dune, a small river, and an imposing rock splendidly frames a lovely bay. (We will have to play this by ear as to local conditions and weather on the day. Also, we will confirm on the day whether to walk there, or drive as much of it as we can.)
Dinner at the accommodation or nearby, perhaps at eco-friendly Mellow Beach House, hopefully before or by sunset so we can enjoy the view somewhat more.
DAY 4 – July 14, 2026: A day to chill in Sidi Kaouki (Tuesday)
Meals: B & D (not including cocktails)
This morning is at your election. Perhaps include some extra tour activity offered by your accommodation, go to the beach or you can do an argan oil workshop and later lunch with Hafida, if she has availability. (Cost is not part of the tour fee and will need to be pre-booked. Hafida’s place is off-piste, so you will also need to hire a local taxi whose driver we know and trust, as the tour vehicle will not be suitable for the road surface.)
This afternoon is likewise free.
Meet back at the accommodation before travelling to sunset drinks and dinner at La Mouette et les Dromadaires, overlooking the ocean.
Taghazout
July 15 – 18
(Around this coastline it is difficult to find accommodation
that will accept shorter bookings.)
DAY 5 – July 15, 2026: Taghazout (Wednesday)
Meals: B & D
Travel to Taghazout, approximately four hours’ drive from Sidi Kaouki and stay in a bungalow at the Radisson Blu Resort. Big hotels are not our usual style but take it from us, this is the best option in this area for a three-night stay and the bungalows are picturesque.
DAY 6 – July 16, 2026: Agadir Inoumar & Agadir Imchguiguilne (Thursday)
Meals: B L & D
After breakfast there is a day trip to see the famous and rather recently restored ancient fortified granaries or agadirs, where families stored their valuables (not only grain) safe from thieves, and sometimes themselves from marauders. Each family had its own cell and each village agadir had a mosque, underground water tanks and even a prison. Enough to withstand a siege! It will take about two hours to get there. The guardian will show you around.
Dinner at your accommodation, after a big (and probably hot) day out.
DAY 7 – July 17, 2026: a day to chill (Friday)
Meals: B L & D
If it is open today, being the holy day, there will be an optional excursion to Morocco Animal Aid in the afternoon.
Paradise Valley looks nice in the pictures, but pools are murky during dry times and it is otherwise perhaps not quite all it is cracked up to be. If you nonetheless want to check it out you can arrange this directly with the hotel – as soon as you arrive is best. It is only about 18km away.
Taghazout is known for its surf beaches, too.
Farewell dinner tonight at the Favela Restaurant at Munga Guesthouse.
DAY 8 – July 18, 2026: Departure Agadir (Saturday)
Meals: B (if your flight is not too early)
Agadir Airport drop-off – it’s only about 25km from Taghazout. END TOUR
PLEASE NOTE that quoted prices do not include lunches and dinners where not specifically included, drinks (including bottled water), airfares to and from Morocco, some tips and any personal expenses, or anything else not specifically included in the itinerary. We can explain more about this at the time of your enquiry, upon request.
